Tuesday, July 1st 7:30–8:30 PM at 2 Cherry Hill Road, Holmdel (There will not be a regular meeting at the Church) Mrs. Kiss will be offering a special session to help Scouts fulfill the swimming rank requirements for Second Class and First Class. This is a great opportunity to check off aquatic skills with guidance and support!

The “Shadows of 1864” camporee is based on the Union Army’s desperate need for soldiers following the Battle of Gettysburg. In the spring of 1864, they launched a recruitment campaign, which serves as the backdrop for our theme. Scouts BSA and Older Scouts: Participants will be mustered into the Union Army and formed into Companies, engaging in hands-on activities and inter-unit competitions. Stations will cover various aspects of Civil War soldiering, including Cavalry, Medical, Music, Cannon Demonstration, Encampment Organization, 1860s Games, and Drill Instructions.

Monmouth Council Jamboree coordinator today confirmed that Jambo registration for Summer 2026 is CLOSING as early as JUNE 30.  Council needs to firm up their numbers to begin ordering supplies, booking buses, and doing all the things they need to do to pull a contingent together.  If you want to go to Jamboree it’s critical you sign up now!  A few people have asked and I was also told today that while it is not final there is every expectation that I will be part of the contingent leadership team so I, Bill Szilasi, will be with your scout for the trip. Any questions please just ask but register ASAP.  I expect a note coming out from council to all registered scouts and parents sometime this week.

Thanks to Dr. Sunil Asnani (Adit’s dad), we’ll be holding a Camping Merit Badge session on Tuesday, May 13th, with a possible Zoom meeting on Sunday, May 11th.
